MEP Project Manager oversees the mechanical electrical and plumbing systems on construction projects ensuring their successful design installation and commissioning on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include managing budgets coordinating with stakeholders and subcontractors ensuring regulatory and quality compliance and overseeing technical aspects like submittals shop drawings and system installations. This role requires strong technical knowledge of MEP systems effective communication and leadership to guide project teams and ensure all project goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:
Develop and manage project schedules resource allocation and day-to-day activities to ensure timely completion of MEP installations.
Budget Management:
Oversee all cost aspects including estimating costs for materials and labor and controlling expenses within the projects financial limits.
Technical Oversight:
Review designs technical specifications and submittals; manage shop drawings and material approvals; and supervise the installation and startup of MEP systems.
Coordination & Communication:
Act as the central point of contact for clients architects engineers contractors and other project stakeholders to facilitate smooth collaboration.
Quality & Compliance:
Conduct inspections to ensure MEP installations meet high industry standards project specifications and all relevant building codes and regulations.
Risk Management:
Monitor project progress identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them for successful project outcomes.
Team Leadership:
Provide technical guidance mentorship and support to the MEP team and other project staff.
