Job Description

This is a 5-month fixed-term contract role.

Job Purpose

As a Warehouse & Supplies Associate you will be responsible for supplying replenishing and providing clean glassware solvents and consumables to the laboratories. You will also accurately and efficiently receive and distribute any incoming items to their corresponding locations manage and maintain inventory supplies.

Key Responsibilities

Work Safely

  • Understand and foresee possible safety issues
  • Abide by health and safety guidelines prescribed by governing bodies and the TRC Environmental Health and Safety Committee
  • General housekeeping of work area
  • Promote a safe working environment
  • Work in a manner that does not jeopardize the safety of self or co-workers

Perform Glass Wash Functions

  • Collect used glassware from the laboratories and segregate for processing
  • Wash and clean glassware by hand and/or by using automated laboratory glassware washer and ensure clean glassware are available for the laboratories
  • Assist chemists in locating glassware and equipment
  • Deliver and restock supply of clean glassware in the laboratory
  • Notify Warehouse & Supplies Supervisor regarding equipment or other areas requiring repairs and/or replenishing

Perform Receiving and Warehouse Functions

  • Receive unpack and move all incoming materials and items to designated locations
  • Update all purchase orders of received items as out lined in the standardized work
  • Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts
  • Create purchase orders and maintain adequate stock levels
  • Replenish solvents and deliver to laboratories as out lined in the standardized work
  • Provide on time and efficient delivery of goods between satellite locations
  • Provide support for each satellite locations as needed
  • Housekeeping of warehouse and storage area
  • Dispose of solvent bottles and drums from laboratory to waste area

Perform Other Duties

  • Perform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned

Qualifications :

  • College Diploma or equivalent

  • Clear understanding of assigned roles responsibilities and duties.
  • Strong customer service orientation supported by effective communication skills.

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.


Additional Information :

Role Dimensions

  • Work with the Supervisor Warehouse & Supplies and other members of Warehouse & Supplies Department to fulfill customer needs
  • Work closely with Finished Goods Analytical and Chemical Procurement to ensure customer requests are processed safely and expeditiously

Physical & Working Conditions/Hybrid Work

  • Regular handling of chemical compounds including substances classified as toxic or Dangerous Goods in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Ability to frequently lift push pull and move items weighing up to 85 pounds.
  • Capability to manage and maneuver heavy materials weighing up to 250 kilograms using appropriate equipment or techniques.
  • Occasional cleaning of glassware that may contain residues of solvents and organic compounds.
  • Potential exposure to strong or unpleasant odors within the work environment.
  • Possible exposure to varying weather conditions during work activities.
  • Availability to work 8-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
