Job Description

  • Partner with Qantas Engineering business unit to produce a step change in how capital planning and maintenance is forecasted
  • Full time permanent position based at Mascot HQ (JG 5L)

As Finance Business Partner Qantas Engineering you will provide effective partnering planning analysis and advice on all financial aspects for the Qantas Engineering Business Unit ensuring sound financial management. With a commercial leadership and process redesign focus this role will challenge current processes structures and methodologies and work in tandem with the operations team to deliver enhanced planning and analysis processes.

Youll be accountable for:

  • Partnering with the Technical Commercial and Planning Engineering teams to optimise Cap Maintenance Spend ($1.8bn pa) on an annual basis
  • Identifying and developing initiatives to enhance process efficiency performance and value of reporting mechanisms
  • Supporting the development of business cases and providing critical input and commercial analysis for strategic decision making
  • Ensuring that through the life costs of Aircrafts are maximised from Entry into Service Operations and Disposals
  • Performance reporting linking financial and non-financial key performance indicators and communicating results to key stakeholders to inform strategic priorities
  • Identifying key performance gaps through analysis against business drivers (customer operations financial)
  • Managing and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure needs are understood and incorporated into planning

Youll have:

  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce Finance Business or other relevant discipline
  • Extensive financial knowledge and experience (typically gained through CPA/CA/equivalent)
  • Process redesign and automation experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to positively influence stakeholders to overcome roadblocks to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Superior communication and influencing skills
  • Intellectual capability to quickly understand apply and embed new concepts in a complex business environment
  • Strong sense of urgency focus on outcomes and drive for success
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and to lead to successful business outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting objective sin order to deliver key milestones
  • Demonstrated analytical financial and/or problem solving skills
  • Emotional intelligence and maturity
  • Strategic Planning mindsight and a restless curiosity for process improvements
  • Own and develop relationships in the business
  • Influence senior leadership decisions
  • Develop networks outside the Finance Community and outside own Business Unit
