Essential Functions:
- Requirements analysis specification generation interface definition component selection circuit simulation schematic capture and board layout
- Capable of designing with complex components including both high performance and conventional data converters memory FPGAs processors op amps and logic devices
- Oversee layout activities for high layer count high speed signaling and complex via structure (including blind buried and micro vias) for PCBs or flex cables
- Interact with software and FPGA engineers to test and troubleshoot electrical circuits and interfaces of the CCAs
- Design product support test hardware including breakout boards and interface cable fixtures
- Identify high risk circuits functions to simulate and prototype/breadboard before creation of full design
- Develop test plans and procedures for digital subsystems and all relevant documentation for design description and requirements
- Participate and present in peer reviews PDRs CDRs and other required design reviews
- Participate in risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies
- Interface with interdisciplinary design teams and reviews
- Schedule cost and technical responsibility at the board or sub-circuit level
- Learn and follow company processes for product development configuration management purchasing etc.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen
- Active DoD clearance with current 6 year update desired
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related electrical engineering power design experience.
- Two years of DOD design and development experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to perform detailed circuit analysis.
- Understanding of appropriate board materials and general board layout techniques
- Familiarity with board layout targeting high speed circuits with advance via structures
- Use of ECAD tools to generate a complete schematic
- Familiarity with Simplis or Hyperlynx power simulation tools
- Experience in broadly based design simulation and test experience with digital circuits and systems
- Conversant with the following technologies:
- Multi-gigabit SerDes
- Maximum throughput DDR
- Advanced processors
- Advanced FPGAs
- I2C SPI
- Product design experience with repetitive production applications
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience with basic digital test equipment including oscilloscopes bus analyzers signal generator and power meters
- Proficiency in python scripting
- Background in in Design for Test Design for Manufacturing and/or Design to Cost
