Must have:
Formal accounting education or certification.
3 years of professional accounting experience and HGB knowledge and professional experience.
Proven experience in optimizing accounting processes ideally leveraging IT solutions automation or digital tools to make workflows more efficient.
Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken).
Ability to work from anywhere in EMEA (Spain Portugal and Germany preferred).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards.
Experience or basic knowledge in Python and SQL.
Awareness of automation opportunities in accounting and interest in working with AI-driven financial tools.
Analytical detail-oriented and structured working style.
Self-starter with a proactive and solution-driven mindset.
Nice to have:
SAP FI/CO or similar ERP systems (Oracle Navision Dynamics etc.).
Experience with DATEV.
Experience with Billomat.
Experience with financial planning public funding or investment processes.
HAVE AN IMPACT
Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP AR reconciliations reporting).
Support monthly and annual closings with accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with relevant local accounting standards (German GAAP IFRS etc.)
Identify and implement automation opportunities within accounting processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate accounting with other business systems.
Explore data-driven financial insights and suggest areas for optimization.
Take initiative on forward-looking projects such as financial planning or funding opportunities after core processes are automated.
