The Electrical Design & Assembly Co-op will be responsible for the design and specification of Zarpac line projects and initiatives. While working under the support of a senior designer the co-op student will perform the following functions:
Read follow and create electrical schematics for control panels and field devices using AutoCAD Electrical and printed drawing packages
Interpret and create Electrical BOMs for control panels and electrical installation packages
Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning packaging machinery on the shop floor
Debug update and test PLC and HMI programs for automation machines and production lines
Create/edit engineering documentation required to support construction and installation of packaging line control systems.
Assembly and wiring of panels and packaging equipment
Who were looking for
A 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in the co-op Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics program
Completed at least 1 prior work term
AutoCAD Electrical experience creating electrical schematics control panel layouts conduit and cable tray layouts considered an asset
Knowledge and experience working with controls and automation hardware (PLC relays servos HMI Push buttons sensors valves safety circuits) considered an asset
Proficiency in the use of MS Office required
PLC programming experience in AB and/or Siemens Series PLCs considered an asset
Experience with Factory Talk Studio and Wonderware considered an asset
Ability to work with hand tools
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to start September 2025
