Job Title: Medication Technician

About the Role

As a Medication Technician you will play an essential role in supporting residents health and well-being through the safe accurate administration of medications. Youll work closely with nurses physicians families and residents to ensure medications are managed properly while fostering a supportive respectful and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents safely and accurately in accordance with policies procedures and regulations.
  • Document all medication assistance and resident care activities in the electronic health record system.
  • Support residents with daily care needs including assistance with appointments vital signs and wellness checks as directed.
  • Coordinate with physicians pharmacies and families to ensure timely medication refills prescription changes and accurate communication.
  • Respond effectively and calmly to resident emergencies following established emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a clean organized and compliant medication cart and work area at all times.
  • Promote resident dignity independence and overall well-being through compassionate care.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience as a caregiver or medication technician preferred but not required (training available).
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and health screening including physical exam and TB testing.
