Local Travel Ultrasound Technician

Overview


The primary purpose of the Mobile Ultrasound Technician is to provide quality Ultrasound to patients typically receiving homebased or instructional care to limit as much discomfort and inconvenience as possible resulting in the ability of primary physicians radiologists and family member to determine proper plans for care.



Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate images to allow physicians to diagnose patient illness by skillfully operating ultrasound equipment

  • Clearly communicate with patient about expectations prior to taking ultrasound

  • Secure copy of physician s order and patient fact sheet from nursing staff

  • Ensure operation of ultrasound equipment by completing required preventative maintenance following manufacturer s instructions

  • Assure that the patient receiving an ultrasound is correct and matches the information provided by dispatch

  • Report any needs for supplies and equipment as it may be recognized

  • Utilize proper ultrasound protection techniques in assuring the safety of yourself patient and staff while performing ultrasound

  • Clean and maintain vehicle and equipment to keep them in good working order

  • Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality



Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and understand medical terminology and physician orders
  • Oregon OBMI registry upon hire
  • Valid Driver s License in good standing
  • Valid CPR Card

Preferred Qualifications Education and/or Experience:

  • Demonstrable proficiency in healthcare industry terminology and systems
  • Education to meet certification license or registration requirement
  • ARDMS (RDCS/RVT) or CCI (RCS/RVS) registries or the ability to earn within 1 year of hire

1-2 years(+) experience as an X-Ray Technician ARRT certified and licensed in the States of Oregon (Washington - preferred, but can obtain Washington license after hire) Ability to read and understand medical terminology and physician orders. Valid Driver s License in good standing & authorized CPR Card (Excellent driving record)

ARRT certified and licensed in the States of Oregon (Washington - preferred, but can obtain Washington license after hire)
