The opportunity

Our Government & Public Sector-Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS-FAAS) team is growing exponentially and as a senior youll play a key role in that growth. Working across all Federal GPS sector service lines and interacting with our clients youll develop your career by communicating and providing expertise around data integrity that can provide improved insight within the accounting finance governance and regulatory space. Its all about understanding the business processes and data flow to provide a truly exceptional experience for our clients.

Your key responsibilities

The nature of this role means that you will be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for our clients. That means youll need to understand how our clients data integrity and quality allow for more reliable reporting. Youll also develop your knowledge by learning about current issues profession and business developments relevant to the clients industry so well look to you to build relationships and expertise with team members.

To qualify for theroleyou must have

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related business discipline
• At least 3 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience applying Federal US GAAP and GASB standards
• Pursing a CPA certification
• Experience with any of the following: preparation or auditing of Federal financial statements operations research advanced data analytics knowledge exploratory data mining and data visualization
• Strong technical writing skills and
• A deep understanding of the objectives of Federal financial management as well as commonly used terminology processes and tools
• A proven record of excellence when managing mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
• The confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
• The EY Government and Public Sector Practices staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned to the office within the metropolitan area you have been hired; however in certain circumstances travel may be required within and/or beyond your geographic region based on client and project needs. For roles within the federal practice the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% is preferred. Within the state local and education practice the flexibility to travel up to approximately 80% is preferred.

Ideallyyoull also have

• US CPA licensure in your work state
• CGFM and/or CDFM
