As a Natural Hazard & Reinsurance Modelling Advisor youll contribute to the financial strength of Suncorp by delivering high-quality modelling and insights across natural perils and reinsurance. Youll work within the Capital & Investments team collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support budgeting reinsurance program design and allocation. This role offers opportunities for career progression and exposure to a broad range of technical and strategic initiatives.
What Youll Do
- Design maintain and enhance modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting reinsurance program optimisation and allocation
- Ensure the accuracy integrity and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling
- Deliver technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve automate and simplify modelling and analytical workflows
- Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modelling results
- Build strong relationships with internal teams to ensure modelling advice aligns with evolving business needs
What Youll Bring
- 5 years experience in financial services ideally with exposure to general insurance
- Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel VBA SQL and SAS; Python experience desirable
- Excellent communication and business writing skills
- Ability to manage small to medium projects independently
- Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Data Science Statistics Engineering or Mathematics
- Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired
