Job Description

Position Purpose:

The Investigations Support Manager is responsible for actively driving the Investigations Support function and initiatives within a designated area(s) of responsibility. This role provides cross-functional support for investigative processes throughout the organization requiring the management of multiple tasks and projects to achieve goals. The Investigations Support team serves as the central hub for all inbound support requests from the Asset Protection Investigations team AP Field Supply Chain AP Legal and Law Enforcement. Due to the nature of investigative work this position may require irregular work hours.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis of current Loss Prevention Merchandising Operational and related processes to identify shrink and profit loss liability
  • Identify solutions make recommendations and implement controls to mitigate shrink and profit loss
  • Ensure the integration of Loss Prevention (shrink and profit loss liability) are included as a vital component of all cross functional businesses within the organization
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) both cross-funstionally and within Loss Prevention regarding process enhancements or changes
  • Selects develops and motivates assigned staff


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Typically reports to Sr Manager of Asset Protection
  • Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection termination performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.


Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).


Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • 1 year of Home Depot experience
  • 1 year of management or supervisory experience
  • External:
  • 18 years or older
  • Pass the Background Check

  • 2 years of Loss Prevention store management or supervisory experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Conduct analysis of investigative support processes to identify gaps risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the intake triage and fulfillment of inbound support requests including case handoffs video and data requests and law enforcement inquiries.
  • Identify solutions make recommendations and implement controls to ensure accurate timely and compliant support of investigations.
  • Ensure the integration of investigative support is included as a vital component of all cross-functional business activities within the organization.
  • Effectively communicate (verbal and written) both cross-functionally and within Asset Protection regarding process enhancements or changes.
  • Select develop and motivate assigned staff fostering a culture of accountability teamwork and professional growth.
  • Partner closely with leadership across AP Investigations AP Field Supply Chain AP Legal and Law Enforcement to ensure alignment and responsiveness.
  • Monitor workload distribution service levels and team performance to ensure timely and effective support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to identify and implement process improvements leverage technology and enhance support capabilities.


Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelors degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and communication (verbal & written ) both cross-functional and within Loss Prevention; ability to build effective business partnerships
  • Demonstrate self-initiative in identifying and resolving issues of theft/fraud and asset protection to improve profit
  • Execution of day to day assignments and commitments
  • Has the ability to set challenging objectives and can communicate clear expectations; demonstrates a clear bias for action and a sense of urgency on priorities; takes ownership of success/failures and processes. Has the ability to operate and drive programs related to the business through proper communication to business partners and direct reports
