Were a 20 person team of senior decorated industry veterans in Montreal creating an intensely competitive hardcore PC extraction shooter for veteran FPS players who demand tactical depth responsive controls and solid networking performance.
The Opportunity
Youll architect the backend systems powering our blockbuster extraction shooter built in Unreal Engine 5 implementing server authority with client prediction and reconciliation for competitive multiplayer gameplay. Your work will directly impact core systems including:
- Weapon trace mechanics and projectile simulation with material penetration
- Advanced AI state machines and complex inventory replication
- Loot spawn management and persistent player data with reputation tracking
- Gameplay ability systems session management and matchmaking
What Youll Do
- Drive architecture design and implementation of high-performance backend solutions
- Build full-stack features from data layer to client API
- Maintain and improve scalable reliable and efficient systems
- Collaborate with world-class designers and developers to shape the game
- Identify and advocate for improvements to our development process
You Bring
- 5 years of professional software development with strong full-stack focus
- Expertise in NodeJS Kubernetes and AWS
- Bachelors/Masters in CS or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication for cross-discipline collaboration
Bonus Points
- Experience with game backend platforms (PlayFab AccelByte Pragma GameLift)
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 and game development
- Knowledge of RESTful/real-time APIs and microservice architecture
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions
