Job Description

Location - Bridgwater
On-Site at Hinkley Point C

The Job Mission
This is a site-based role Monday to Friday in Bridgwater so applicants should live within commuting distance or be prepared to relocate (a small relocation allowance is available). Youll join the mechanical engineering team supporting construction activities on one of the UKs most significant energy projects. This is an ideal opportunity for early-career engineers looking to gain hands-on site experience in a highly professional safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing mechanical installation works to ensure alignment with design requirements.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues in coordination with senior engineers and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of works inspections and progress updates.
  • Review and check engineering documentation against approved plans and drawings.
  • Participate in regular site inspections and safety walkdowns.
  • Liaise with contractors and other disciplines to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives on site.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all activities.

 


Qualifications :

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel Teams SharePoint Outlook).
  • Willingness to work on site full-time in Bridgwater.

Desired Skills

  • Experience working in construction manufacturing power generation water treatment or similar industries.
  • Understanding of basic quality processes and documentation control.
