Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused General Catering Assistant to join our team in Wrexham United Kingdom. As a vital member of our catering staff you will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages for various events and daily operations
- Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment adhering to food safety standards
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner addressing their needs and enquiries
- Operate catering equipment including coffee machines and food warmers
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks
- Restock and organise supplies in the catering area
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assist in setting up and breaking down event spaces
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications :
- Proven customer service experience in a food service or hospitality setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable and punctual with a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory
- Barista experience is advantageous but not essential
- Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
