Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join a busy Financial Assessment operational support team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality administrative support across financial assessment income and debt teams.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Collect sort scan and index incoming post and emails related to Financial Assessment and Income and Debt services.
Maintain and manage effective data and information systems in line with data protection policies.
Respond to and resolve customer enquiries referring to specialist staff as necessary.
Support financial processes including handling service users monies and using procurement systems (e.g. SRM).
Attend and minute service-specific meetings producing accurate records in a timely manner.
Liaise with other departments to ensure consistent efficient and joined-up service delivery.
Assist in maintaining a welcoming and safe environment in public reception areas.
Ensure compliance with health & safety safeguarding and information security standards.
Support training and development of team members in areas of expertise.
Participate in performance management processes and contribute to service improvement discussions.
Skills/Experience:
Previous administrative experience within a local authority finance or operational support team.
Proficient in using databases digital systems and document management tools.
Experience working in a fast-paced high-volume administrative environment.
Ability to manage workload independently prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Confident handling confidential or sensitive information in accordance with policies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and services.
Knowledge of Civica (advantageous).
Understanding of GDPR equality and diversity health and safety and safeguarding requirements.
