LK Jordan is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant & Safety Compliance Coordinator to manage payroll processing and HR support while also ensuring warehouse safety compliance across multiple locations. This role will be responsible for executing accurate and timely payroll and performing safety audits and training in accordance with OSHA standards. Schedule is Monday - Friday from 8am- 5pm and pay rate is $20 hourly.
Primary Responsibilities:
HR Support Specialist (85%)
Maintaining and organizing all HR files (electronic and hard copy) (BIG Part)
Uploading electronic documents and maintaining accurate digital record-keeping systems.
Onboarding all new hires including preparing new hire packets and ensuring completion of required documentation.
Tracking and maintaining PTO accruals leaves of absence and employee attendance records.
Organizing company events such as birthday celebrations holiday luncheons and other employee engagement activities.
Serving as payroll backup when the payroll coordinator is on vacation sick or otherwise unavailable.
Assisting the HR Manager as needed with special projects and HR-related initiatives.
Providing reports using Excel and presenting findings using PowerPoint as needed.
Supporting HR initiatives and helping maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
Warehouse Safety & Compliance (15%)
Conduct regular safety inspections across multiple warehouse locations.
Evaluate facility conditions to identify potential safety hazards or violations.
Ensure OSHA compliance and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Facilitate safety training sessions for warehouse staff and drivers.
Review driver manifests and educate drivers on best practices for transport and safety.
Collaborate with leadership to report safety issues and track resolution progress.
Stay updated on OSHA regulations and warehouse safety protocols.
Qualifications:
1 - 2 years of HR experience and knowledge of payroll.
OSHA knowledge and prior experience in safety compliance or training preferred.
Familiarity with HR procedures and compliance requirements.
Strong Excel and PowerPoint and Word skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to travel to warehouse locations as needed (valid drivers license required).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with electronic filing systems and digital workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HRIS or payroll software (e.g. ADP Paycom Paychex).
OSHA certification or safety-related training a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with regular visits to warehouse facilities.
May involve standing walking and inspecting warehouse spaces.
Occasional travel between local or regional sites.
