Job Description

Job Summary

Under general supervision this position providesfront-linecustomerservicedutiesforrecreationalfacilities and performs a variety of customer service clerical and janitorial duties.

  • Performs front line customer service and concession duties at the following Recreation Facilities (including but not limited to):
    • Fieldhouse
    • Recreation Center
    • Discovery Park Ice Trail
    • H2OBrienPool
    • Salisbury Park
  • Utilizes resources to effectively serve customers and remedy complaints or conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Performs general receptionist duties which may include facility tours.
  • Assists patrons with membership related inquiries which may include class registration scheduling andrentals.
  • Performs basic cash handling duties. Adheres to the Cash Handling Policy & Procedure.
  • AssistsintheeducationandenforcementoftheRecreationFacilityPoliciesandProcedures.
  • Prepares food;cleans concession equipment to meet the Health Department Standards.
  • Assists with ensuring the assigned facility venues and building/site equipment is in proper working order to maintain safe conditions for patrons and staff.
  • Assists with and/or performs facility setups and tear downs for various programs and rentals.
  • Maintains various inventories including but not limited to general office supplies pro-shop merchandise equipment rentals and concession supplies.
  • Assists in training new staff on front desk procedures and facility operations.
  • Performs general opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Alerts appropriate staff to emergency situations and/ or maintenance concerns.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of recreation center policies equipment and facilities.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical principles.
  • Knowledge of philosophies principles and practices of positive interaction with children parents and staff members.
  • Knowledge of cash handlingprocedures.
  • Skill in the provision of customer service.
  • Skill in the operation of computers office equipment and various software programs.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in interpersonal communication.
  • Abilitytohandleincidentsreportsandconfrontationsinarecreationfacilityand/or program.
  • Ability to provide a positive customer service attitude towards all customers and participants.
  • Ability to work with in a multifunctional team.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at relatively the same time.
  • Ability to concentrate on detail.
  • Ability to work irregular hours weekends evenings and/or holidays.

Tools & Equipment

Requires frequent use of general office equipment cleaning equipment and concession equipment.

Physical Demands

Requires regular sitting standing walking talking handling feeling or operating objects stooping kneeling crouching or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting up to fifty(50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision.

Environment

Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment electrical equipment chemicals or radiant energy.

Part-time and Seasonal Town of Parker employees have limited access to benefits which include: employee assistance program (EAP) one (1) hour of sick time accrued for every thirty (30) hours worked and employee plus one (1) other member in your household a membership to the Parker Recreation Center and/or Fieldhouse. Full pay range is: $16.00/hr. - $20.27/hr.
