The role

The Work Dynamics Data & Insights team is looking to recruit a Business Intelligence Specialist to work in its Business Intelligence Team.

The Business Intelligence Specialist will work as part of a highly skilled client-oriented global data community at JLL to develop innovative analytical solutions that support the businesss efforts to increase productivity reduce risk lift customer satisfaction and drive revenue.

The Business Intelligence Team is committed to continuous learning and innovation. As such the job holder will be expected to engage with external industry communities including Tableau Alteryx and Databricks to ensure their skills continually evolve and adapt to new analytical techniques and functionalities within our core BI products.

Business intelligence will be expected to support the development of analytical proof of concepts to demonstrate the potential return on investment and transform proof of concepts into sustainable processes that can be adopted and shared across JLL. This will be done as part of the wider Business Intelligence Analytics Team within JLL ensuring that any developed solutions are documented and integrated into the teams operating framework.

The Specialist Business Intelligence Specialist will be responsible for developing end-to-end analytical solutions for complex business initiatives translating business requirements into insightful and sustainable dashboards and analyses that support our ability to maximise compliance increase productivity while minimising costs and maximising profit.

The role has been deliberately titled Specialist; Beyond developing complex solutions the individual will be responsible for mentoring and coaching Business Intelligence Analysts and senior Analysts within the business. Continuous development and learning are a core component of our Business Intelligence Team. The individual will be expected to lead development tasks understand the teams longer-term personal development goals and collaborate across accounts to benefit the wider JLL Business Intelligence Community.

As the business areas use of data and analytics matures so will the businesss tools and platforms for Business Intelligence. The Business Intelligence Specialist will be expected to embrace new technology and techniques leading the development of Proof of Concepts to demonstrate the potential return on investment and then to transform Proof of Concepts into sustainable processes that can be adopted by the business area and can be shared across JLL.

In addition the ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to embrace new techniques and technology taking a high-level business requirement and working in partnership with external experts to develop solutions from conceptual models to actual proof of concepts and sustainable business-as-usual solutions.

The person will be accountable for defining prototyping and implementing complex analytical solutions as well as transforming transactional data into meaningful business insights.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled individual able to demonstrate strong data visualisation skills from design thinking to creative solutions. They will be required to work at pace using agile project management methodologies that enable an iterative approach to project delivery.

Whilst outstanding technical knowledge is essential it is equally important that the candidate can inspire existing Business Intelligence staff. They will be required to transfer knowledge and skills to existing staff and ensure that the Business Intelligence Team is continuously learning and developing as a peer group rather than a set of individuals.

Day to day

• Lead the technical development of complex Business Intelligence initiatives ensuring constant communication and partnership with the Head of Business Intelligence.
• Liaise with key stakeholders including directly with JLL and Work Dynamics client senior management to translate complex requirements into practical business solutions.
• Lead and work as part of sprint development teams to develop sustainable solutions.
• Ensuring iterative design processes are followed providing regular feedback and engagement to the business.
• Identify new analytics technology and techniques building proof of concepts demonstrating the potential use case and return on investment for the business.
• Be an active member of the internal and external Work Dynamics Business Intelligence communities to identify and implement industry best practices on the businesss analytics.
• Facilitate the continuous growth in skills and knowledge of the other analysts within the business.
• Actively participating in feedback to analysts on the development of new initiatives.
• Be continuously looking 12-18 months in the future actively participating in defining the Business Intelligence strategy and identifying growth opportunities in revenue compliance and productivity.

Desirable Knowledge & Capabilities

• A Business Intelligence expert with knowledge of data visualisation and analytical techniques.
• Bring global experience and best practices to bust silos and ensure effective utilisation of data.
• Proven examples of utilising Tableau and Alteryx to develop innovative solutions to complex requirements.
• Demonstrates an ability to learn new techniques and tools as and when identified for example predictive modelling Generative AI and Human Centred Design
• Communication - Excellent presentation skills (verbal and written) strong understanding of analytic/statistical concepts and ability to explain them to others through simple storytelling.
• Strong understanding of analytic/statistical concepts with the ability to explain them to others.
• Strategic Thinking - Ability to think broadly create a shared vision and embrace change as an opportunity.
• Customer Management - Understanding customer needs and setting; managing appropriate customer expectations within system project or contract constraints while providing exceptional customer service creating trust and transparency that fosters lasting customer relationships.
• Team-building - Key stakeholders and collaborators are geographically dispersed. It is crucial to be capable of obtaining results from ad hoc groups of diverse individuals.
• Proven team leadership success and ability to manage through influence.
• Working experience in Agile Project Management methodologies

Skills and Experience

• Bachelors degree Masters degree or equivalent experience in BI computer science econometrics operations research or statistics preferred or equivalent working experience
• A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a business intelligence business or data analyst is required.
• Fluent English
• Ability to engage with colleagues across the Business Intelligence Team.

• Previous evidence of creating innovative solutions that push the known boundaries of analytical tools such as Tableau Alteryx and GPTs.
• Previous experience using an enterprise-level data warehouse and fact and dimensional data models.
• A proven track record of delivering and understanding the latest industry approaches.
• Able to drive innovation.

• Business analysis consulting/advisory and/or project or client management experience
• Expert experience in Business Intelligence visualisation tools (for example Tableau)
• Working experience in the analytical toolkit (e.g. SPSS SAS R Python)
• Outstanding analytical mindset with an ability to interpret visualise and tell the story behind the data
• Focus on providing relevant solutions to the clients challenges which drive productivity profitability client satisfaction or other important business metrics.
• Able to deliver high-quality work promptly also under time pressure.
• A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills able to effectively communicate both with technical experts and management acting as an internal consultant to the business to advise challenge and influence requirements and scopes.
• Professional experience and passion to further excel in a category of broadly understood BI including Business & client understanding business analysis data visualisation databases data integration ETL big data storytelling Generative AI and strategy.
