Our client is a fast-growing well-capitalized startup at the intersection of consumer hardware and AI. They are on a mission to revolutionize golf by making simulation and learning accessible to everyone. The company has already seen explosive growth with their flagship product becoming the #1 most-used golf simulator and the #1 best-selling golf training product globally. Theyve achieved 1000% year-over-year growth and are already profitable with projected 8-figure ARR.
As a lean team of 25 our client has built a strong brand with over 300000 community supporters and products sold in hundreds of stores nationwide. Theyre on the verge of a major scaling effort with the team expected to grow from 25 to over 100 in the next year.
Our client is looking for a Founding AI Agent Engineer to partner directly with the founding team. You will be instrumental in developing the core AI agent layer for their golf coaching service initially focusing on internal tools to support thousands of golf lessons. This is a unique opportunity to gain technical leadership rapidly and have a direct influence on the companys direction.
Your initial responsibilities will include:
- Building an AI agent layer for internal tooling.
- Retraining deep learning vision models for local deployment on mobile devices.
- Working on stealth projects to support 10x100x growth.
Requirements
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and motivated engineer with a proven ability to deliver results quickly.
Must-Haves:
- Experience in AI agent development and deployment with knowledge of APIs like OpenAI and Anthropic.
- Background in full-stack application development.
- Experience with traditional machine learning and computer vision.
- Proficiency in integrating multimodal inputs (video structured data).
- A strong track record of personal projects.
- A passion for learning and a genuine interest in the companys mission. You should research our clients mission before interviewing.
- Willingness to work on-site in Irvine CA. Our client will cover relocation costs.
Bonus Points:
- Experience at a high-talent-density company (e.g. Runway ML Scale AI Anthropic OpenAI).
- A degree from a top computer science program.
- Experience with synthetic video generation or pose detection models.
