Job Description

As the QA Specialist (1 Year Contract) you have the opportunity to be a part of the Global Operations Quality team to support our North Asia customers.

You will enhance customer support and ensure that all documentation complies with the local regulations.

About You

Were looking to recruit a QA Specialist on a 1-year contract reporting to the Regional QA Specialist based in Tokyo.

This is a varied role for an individual with a strong foundation in QA within the food industry.

What Youll Be Doing

The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

Customer Support

  • Customer Audit: Support customer audit coordination on a local basis include communication with the sales manager/ customer for NDA audit agenda audit related details and pre-audit questionnaire and preparation.
  • Customer Inquiries: Attend to and support customer inquiries which include request for product technical quality advice questionnaire standard and non-standard documents/ information document translation etc.
  • Specification Review: Perform specification review and communicate/ negotiate specification differences with customers; support QMM request as needed.
  • Other customer requests: SLE customer portal support etc.
  • Japan Periodic Testing

Regulatory Compliance

  • Support product regulatory compliance request from a Japanese customer/ commercial (raise a request to the regulatory compliance committee provide needed support to the committee for compliance check follow up on request status)

EHSQS

  • Perform maintain and improve the EHSQS (Environmental Health Safety Quality & Security) standard and requirements as set by the Company. Participate in the companys EHSQS program including training audit etc. arranged by the company.

Others

  • CI Projects as assigned
  • Any other ad doc duties as required

Location

This role is assigned to our Tokyo office located at Shinbashi.

What Youll Have

  • BS degree in a related science field
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in QA/QC in the food industry
  • Knowledge of food safety norms (GFSI: BRC FSSC 22000).
  • Knowledge of applicable food legislation.
  • Experience working in a quality and regulatory-focused job.
  • Demonstrated management customer complaint handling and audit experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office basic tools (Word Excel PowerPoint) SharePoint and SAP QM modules.
  • Able to communicate in both English & Japanese (both written & spoken)
