Position Title: Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction Location: Central Office (237 Essex Street Lawrence MA 01840) Reports to: Senior Director of Curriculum and InstructionJob Goal: Lawrence Public Schools seeks an Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction to support the office of Curriculum and Instruction in executing key district teaching and learning initiatives and operations. Performance Responsibilities Department Operations & Information ManagementCoordinate day-to-day operations of the C & I and oversee federal/state compliance processes and reporting related to Curriculum & InstructionOversee maintenance of accurate records of student and educator enrollment and attendance at departmental program and professional development Assist in the development and management of departmental budgetsExecute and improve upon department wide administrative and organization systemsManage department staff as neededProgram Management Assist in the development of new district programsOrganize and supervise selected current programs such as summer vacation and after school learning programs the Advanced Educator Program or other programs as assigned by departmental leadership (including posting positions hiring staff creating systems to support program implementation managing program finances and evaluating program effectiveness)Project Support Assist the Senior Director in the development of district initiatives to advance teaching and learningResearch and prepare summaries of best practices in specific aspects of curriculum and instructionAssist in the development of departmental presentations and preparation of reportsSupport internal auditing and program evaluation as determined by the Senior DirectorCollaboration & CommunicationPrepare and manage communications with stakeholders including managing the ML Department websiteParticipate in/lead department meetingsParticipate on key central office and district other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Curriculum and InstructionQualifications: A successful Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction will have curriculum leadership experience strong attention to detail experience using data to inform decision making strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction and be a strong project manager who is passionate about providing excellent programming for students and educators in and Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree required Masters preferredExperience in education preferably in general education curriculum/instructionExperience in project/program management Experience in managing budgets grants and procurementSkills & Competencies:Manage projects and personnel for daily activities and long-term projectsStrong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrate leadership administrative management and analytical qualitiesDemonstrate strong communication skills with administrators staff and vendors in order to build relationships to help resolve issues and to meet their needsProficiency in Google Drive and Excel (GoogleSheets) and preferably other applications such as Munis Survey Monkey Canva and/or CleverStrong customer service skills and an ability interact with a diverse constituency Skilled at participating in cross-functional teams and collaborating to find creative solutionsWork Year: Twelve (12) months a yearSalary Range: Salary in accordance with the Non-Union Assistant Directors Salary ScheduleOther: ExemptBenefits: In accordance with the School Committee policy for exempt OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Lawrence Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race color religion national origin pregnancy gender identity sexual orientation marital/civil union status ancestry place of birth age citizenship status veteran status political affiliation genetic information or disability as defined and required by state and federal laws.
