Leidos is seeking an Associate Buyer to work in our Ladson SC facility. The Associate Buyer is responsible for the procurement of various components machines and equipment. As a member of the Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team you will be joining a diverse and dedicated group who are excited about producing industry leading screening technology. Our Ladson SC facility produces a comprehensive suite of fully automated and integrated products for aviation shipping ports border crossings and critical infrastructure customers. These systems provide threat detection by screening baggage cargo and people at checkpoints around the world.
Primary Responsibilities
- The development and negotiation of favorable prices terms schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures under supervisor guidance.
- Purchase order administration/file maintenance closeout for all procurement related activities and supplier customer management.
- Creating solicitations supporting proposals conducting price and cost analysis negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provisions.
- Procurement of low complexity and risk with some work being more complex and/or riskier with supervisor assistance.
- Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality reliability and ability to meet required schedules.
- Reviews proposals and selects or recommends suppliers based on gathered information.
- May also recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
- Completes larger procurements with some manager oversight.
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree coupled with less than 1 years business experience; OR an Associates degree coupled with more than 1 years business experience; OR a HS Diploma coupled with 3-5 years of business experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Customer Service mentality.
- Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation desired.
- CostPoint experience preferred.
- Prior experience buying tangible goods is preferred.
- Prior background in Supply Chain Industrial Engineering Business Finance etc.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44200.00 - $79900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
