CrewSELECT are supporting our client in their search for an Electrical Fitter/Communication Technician for aRail Radio System Replacement Project at the Nowergup facility.
Key Project Overview:
The Public Transport Authority is investing in Perths future rail transport needs with a major upgrade of its radio system.
Unlike the analogue system which only allows audio () transmissions the new digital system will also allow for the transmission of data which is becoming increasingly important for train operations. It will also provide increased reliability and flexibility allowing for a more efficient rail network and supporting plans for future expansion.
The new digital radio system will consist of fixed infrastructure (radio masts) at various locations across the rail network. All radio devices in trains security vehicles and handheld radios for mobile staff will also be replaced with new digital-friendly equipment. Radio consoles used by control centre personnel will be replaced.

- $ shift 6am - 2.30pm
- $78.60/ph afternoon shift 2pm - midnight
- 8 hour days with occasional overtime.
- Workshop based in Nowergup
- 6month project.

- Paid rail training - The course and your time.
About you:
- Experience will include install wiring panel building and terminating cat 5 wires for communication equipment.
- Ability to read electronic or wiring diagrams.
- An ability to work as part of a team and contribute to our ongoing success.
- Be safety focused with good verbal communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional manner
- Able to multi-task time manage prioritise and effectively organise tasks
- A can do approach productive and proactively searches for the next activity/task
- A self-starter driven and highly self-motivated
Tickets and licenses required:
- A Grade Electrical Licence or Certificate III in Electronics and Communications.
- Drivers Licence.
Youll need to be able to pass a rail medical including a drug and alcohol test for this role.
