Job Description
Pay Range:
$39764.00 - $56670.00 - $73576.00 (min - mid - max)
Job Duties:
35% - Fund Management: Responsible for the daily fund management of all assigned divisional cost centers. Manage financial transactions balancing and reconciling procurement/expense revenue and payroll accounts verifying accounting documents. Coordinate post review and maintain fiscal records in OurDay Drive and independent spreadsheets for both MUSC and MUSCP accounts.
15% - Procurement: Manage all research-backed procurement activities. Review expenses on grants submitted by procurement team through purchase orders supplier invoices and ISDs. Approve transactions in corelab/Infinity system and animal charges in including verifying accounts are updated as grants expire. Keep Procurement Team updated on research funding availability balances and new/ending grants. Advise faculty and residents in rules and regulations of allowed expenses on research funds.
15% - Clinical Trials: Facilitate revenue cycle of clinical trials from invoicing sponsors updating study trackers updating OnCore system to creating CI/deposits in OurDay. Track study balances and end dates to ensure proper financial management. Assist with PCA/PAA for study coordinators and PIs.
15% - Personnel/HR: Responsible for the preparation of personnel funding documents to include PCA/PAA transactions as required due to changes of assigned effort salary or FTE on cost centers and grants. Function as liaison between Department of Surgery and other MUSC departments in communicating about external funding for Surgery employees external employees on Surgery grants and track end dates for input during annual budget preparation. Assist in the approval of quarterly Effort Certification process and final grant closeout Personnel Report.
10% - Reporting: Assist in the preparation of summary reports of select divisions and accounts and coordinating research balances and creates detailed grant activity reports for PIs/ division chiefs and department leadership. Analyze audit reports research discrepancies and any compliance issues. Assist with month-end and year-end activities by processing journal and budget entries. Assist in preparation of financials for quarterly department research leadership meetings and monthly-quarterly planned PI research update meetings.
5% - Ensure proper cross training of research and non-research procurement employees. Assist with the implementation of any new business processes.
5% - Serve as backup to Fiscal Analyst II and Fiscal Manager.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and three years professional experience in a related area such as accounting auditing finance or commercial lending. A bachelors degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience.
