Job Description:
Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within PSLD were committed to our customers who build a better world with our products services and solutions. The Senior Manager Logistics will lead Piracicaba Distribution Center managing logistics activities using Lean principles to provide safe compliant and efficient results at our Piracicaba Distribution Center (DC). The Piracicaba DC supports our Latin America dealers through the Parts Distribution Network by getting parts to our customers as quickly efficiently and safely as possible. Our goal is to get the right part to the right place at the right time.
What you will do:
- As the top priority maintain and grow a Safety Focused culture and work environment.
- Ensure that all security and compliance requirements for the site are consistently met.
- Leading the day-to-day operation with support of management team.
- Responsible for policies and programs which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability.
- Managing operations performance to ensure KPIs and financial targets are achieved.
- Responsible for distribution operation processes which include but are not limited to receiving storage order filling packing shipping quality control inspection inventory counts and related functions.
- Developing and implementing operations changes to improve performance.
- Preparing budget and objectives and various reports.
- Building a collaborative relationship with dealers suppliers contractors internal customers process partners and the community.
- Responsible for all employee related activities of the facility.
- Working with HR Manager when appropriate to recruit select develop and train staff.
- Maintaining the site property and oversight of maintenance and janitorial services.
- Purchasing and maintaining equipment vehicles and procuring office and storeroom supplies.
- Working with management team to develop/review operational procedures and quality plans to ensure the operation complies with local government requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
Skills:
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan organize monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers.
Distribution Center Management: Knowledge of distribution processes issues and considerations; ability to effectively manage the receipt storage and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers.
Inventory Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organizations materials commodities merchandises or products.
Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand predict and control the movement of goods materials and supplies.
Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
Basic requirements:
- Bachelors degree preferably in Business Administration Supply Chain Logistics Industrial Engineering
- Pre-Advanced English
Top candidates will also have:
- Previous experience leading and managing direct reports including demonstrated success in coaching driving results delivering performance feedback and motivating a team.
- Experience with both interpreting and analyzing financial and operating statements.
- Previous experience in fostering a learning culture leading with Lean principles.
- Previous robust multi-functional background in plant operations logistics and supply chain.
- Previous experience developing and owning a positive facility culture and employee experience.
- Demonstrated values-based leadership experience in leading large teams preferably within an operations environment.
Additional information:
Required Travel: 25% (Domestic/International)
This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
