POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Executive Director of Talent and Community Affairs is responsible for the Districts overall strategy to promote internal and external community-building and stakeholder engagement.
OUR STUDENTS:Southeastern is a diverse multicultural vocational technical high school which serves over 1700 students. The students balance the rigors of a complete academic course of studies with technical skill training in over 20 career majors. Our students are prepared for college career and/or additional technical training.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works collaboratively with the Superintendent and administrators to develop a district-wide strategy that fosters a positive and inclusive educational environment.
- Reviews and recommends changes to district policies and practices to attract and retain a well- qualified staff committed to student success.
- Oversees a program of professional development and training to enhance administrator faculty and staff understanding of best practices in education and workplace culture.
- Conducts internal investigations related to discrimination harassment and complaints involving employees and assists the high school civil rights coordinator(s) as needed.
- Works with high school administrators faculty and staff to develop activities and events that recognize and celebrate the backgrounds and experiences of students and staff.
- Develops and presents reports regarding progress on key district initiatives.
- Supervises and evaluates the Human Resources Generalist and the Supervisor of Athletics and Student Activities.
- Works with the Director of the Technical Institute to ensure that post-secondary students and staff are included in relevant programming and events.
- Oversees the development of employee support groups.
- Seeks opportunities to enhance district programming through participation in regional state and national initiatives and professional resource groups.
- Identifies opportunities for private and public grant funding to support district objectives.
- Directs the Human Resources Generalist in developing implementing and managing the recruitment hiring evaluation and retention process for all staff.
- Works cooperatively to design and implement orientation and mentoring activities for new staff.
- Reviews the Districts response to requests for reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Conducts exit interviews to gather pertinent data and ensure compliance with all labor laws.
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Masters Degree or higher in an appropriate field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in human resources labor relations employment law compliance staff training employee engagement athletics leadership communications marketing and/or educational leadership either the public or private sector.
- Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and without extensive supervision.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable federal statutes and Massachusetts General Laws.
- Ability to maintain strict confidence regarding all matters.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
This position reports to the Superintendent. The Superintendent will evaluate the performance of this position.
