Job Description
Employment Type: Full-time Employment
Work Setup: Onsite onboarding for two months followed by a transition to a remote setup.
Location: Eastwood Libis Quezon City
Work Schedule: Night Shift (Following U.S Time Zone)
Salary Package: 50000 PHP to 90000 PHP/Monthly
Position Overview:
The Certified Coding Specialist and Auditor provides data and reports to management related to coding and claims for our U.S Based Client. The Specialist educates medical and clinic staff on medical coding and documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluates reviews and documents coding related to patient encounters.
- Processes changes in information system to support accurate and efficient billing processes and financial close
- Reviews various processes related to coding for accuracy and identifies process improvements opportunities.
- Follows proper medical and insurance claim processes.
- Reports on the accuracy of coding and billing to ensure compliance with legal and procedural policies.
- Conducts periodic education and training sessions with Doctors Care medical staff on medical coding and documentation requirements.
- Reports findings of errors inaccuracies and trends to supervisor.
- Performs other tasks or projects as directed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred
- 3 years experience healthcare coding (with Certification is preferred)
- Working knowledge of Cerner EMR is referred
- Billing experience is a plus.
- Medical Coding Certification from AHIMA or AAPC
- Knowledge of insurance filing coding collections and billing policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the ICD9/10-CM HCPCS and CPT-4/5 nomenclature coding rules and guidelines
- Ability to properly sequence ICD-9/10-CM codes
- Advanced understanding of medical terminology and body systems/anatomy and physiology and concepts of disease
- Ability to elicit cooperation from and work in a cooperative manner with professionals and non-professional associates
- Dependable in both production and attendance
- Ability to adapt to new software programs
