Job Summary
As part of our growing Regulatory Affairs team of 21 professionals we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chemical Product Safety Manager to ensure the safety and compliance of chemical products across the DKSH Group in Europe.
General Responsibilities
- Create update and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and CLP-compliant labels for chemical products marketed and purchased within the DKSH Group in compliance with EU CLP GB CLP and Swiss ChemO.
- Evaluate physicochemical toxicological and ecotoxicological data for accurate hazard classification and risk assessment.
- Apply classification criteria according to CLP and relevant transport regulations (ADR IMDG IATA).
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes across the EU UK and Switzerland ensuring timely compliance.
- Submit required notifications to relevant authorities including CLP notifications Poison Centre Notifications (PCN) and the Swiss Product Register.
- Assist the Sales team by verifying product labelling for compliance with applicable regulations.
- Train and raise awareness among internal stakeholders (Sales Managers Sales Support Teams R&D Laboratories Warehouse Staff) on safe chemical handling and hazard communication.
- Liaise with suppliers authorities and internal teams to gather and verify composition and regulatory data.
- Support regulatory evaluations during product development or sourcing.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in applicable chemical regulations and proactively share updates with relevant teams.
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Masters degree in Chemistry Biology Toxicology Ecotoxicology or a related scientific field
- 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical regulatory affairs including SDS authoring and hazard classification
- Strong expertise in Transport REACH and CLP regulations (EU and UK) as well as the Swiss Chemicals Ordinance (ChemO)
- Experience with SDS authoring tools (Lisam 3E or similar)
- Experience in defining exposure control measures and PPE requirements in accordance with hazard assessment is a plus
- Strong proficiency in English
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
