About Bridges of Colorado

Established in 2018 Bridges of Colorado places Bridges Service Professionals across Colorados 23 judicial districts to serve defendants (referred to as participants) in the criminal justice system who have significant mental health needs. Individuals with high acuity mental health needs are ten times more likely to be jailed and nationally there are three times more individuals with serious mental illness in jails or prisons than in hospitals. Bridges has been identified nationwide as a promising practice that focuses on the whole person. It is intentionally designed to address disparities often experienced by this population in the criminal justice system. Bridges Service Professionals advocate for each participants inherent worth and dignity by centering their lived experiences and voice to ensure their behavioral health best interests. At its very core Bridges is person-centered advocacy rooted in solution-focused collaborative practices intended to promote positive outcomes for participants.

Person-Centered by

  • Serving as a primary point of contact for participants families and Bridges staff regarding intake scheduling and service logistics.
  • Providing clarification or reiteration of information and resources discussed during psychological assessment feedback sessions to participants.
  • Ensuring all interactions with participants are conducted with respect and cultural competence upholding the dignity and respect of all participants.
  • Staying current on best practices in clinical assessment mental health and developmental disabilities to effectively support the triage of referrals and prioritization of cases based on urgency diagnostic needs and clinician availability.
  • Adhering to ethical guidelines and legal standards related to clinical assessments and the handling of sensitive information.
  • Providing effective and timely communication of assessment findings and programmatic information to Bridges internal staff.
  • Facilitating in-person psychological assessments through proactive pre-coordination and day of logistical support; including scheduling and preparing a trauma-informed testing space and adhering to best practice standards.

Solution-Focused by

  • Coordinating all aspects of scheduling for psychological assessments within the statewide Bridges team including day-of logistics intake appointments clinical interviews feedback sessions and multidisciplinary meetings between psychologists staff and participants.
  • Managing the master calendar for psychological assessments ensuring efficient utilization of clinician time and clinic resources while proactively identifying and addressing barriers to the assessment process in a timely and solution-focused manner.
  • Ensuring all required documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Maintaining confidential and accurate records in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
  • Providing logistical support to psychologists during the assessment process including arranging for interpreters or accommodations as needed.
  • Maintaining and updating electronic records of assessments appointments and follow-up actions through Bridges case management system.
  • Collecting and maintaining data to support demonstrated efficacy of the program for participants.
  • Managing and allocating resources effectively including staff assignments equipment and materials needed for psychological services.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities to streamline assessment scheduling and reduce client wait times.

Collaborative by

  • Facilitating effective and timely communication and collaboration between the Bridges team and all other professionals involved in the participants care.
  • Ensuring all required documentation and information are collected and organized prior to assessments including contact details signed consents releases of information and completed records requests; prepare and distribute assessment schedules client information packets and pre-appointment instructions to support a smooth evaluation process.
  • Communicating clearly and consistently with team members clinicians and external partners to coordinate program needs ensure timely information sharing and support seamless delivery of assessment services.
  • Collaborating with external providers schools and agencies to collect records and coordinate collateral input and provide all information received to Bridges internal staff.
  • Engaging with the Bridges team members supervisor and leadership to support continuous program improvement and development of services.
  • Adhere to relevant organization state and federal laws regarding confidentiality of information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with diverse and historically marginalized populations.
  • At least three (3) years of experience with intake coordination and administrative support in criminal justice behavioral health or related field.
  • Demonstration of professional alignment with Bridges values culture and principles of justice and equity throughout the organization.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and systems of care.
  • Experience in clinical psychological assessment including familiarity with a range of assessment tools and techniques.
  • Experience with handling confidential information with discretion



OR

  • At least two (2) years as an employee or contractor with Bridges may substitute for the minimum qualifications above with additional specialized training that may be required upon hire.
  • Years of relevant work experience may substitute for the educational requirement with the exception of any required licenses certifications or accreditations.
  • Years of education may substitute for the work experience requirement.
  • Relevant lived experience could be considered as a substitution for educational and/or work experience with the exception of any required licenses certifications or accreditations. Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more (5) years working in a forensic clinical assessment mental health and/or developmental disabilities setting.
  • Experience with behavioral health and justice-involved populations and knowledge of competency system.
  • Demonstrated continuing education advocacy or volunteer work in DEI JEDI or social justice principles. Lived experience as it pertains to these principles in action will also be considered.
  • Experience in a coordination role within a clinical setting preferably with a focus on psychological assessments.

Position Location and Travel Requirements

Bridges supports and fosters a flexible workplace for its employees. Upon initial employment the supervisor will make a workplace determination which best suits the needs of Bridges and the employees role. This position will work from home with regular in-person requirements to meet business needs (i.e. traveling to facilitate psychological assessments) and regional and state travel depending on the particular assignment. Employees are expected to be readily available to meet business and last-minute needs. Occasional travel to the Bridges office in Denver is to be expected. Reliable transportation will be required.

Compensation

We are proud of our equity-conscious pay scale for all positions providing livable wages robust benefits and meaningful time-off policies.

This positions hiring pay is salaried. Pay for this position is $72261.00 to $83100.00. For equity the pay for this position (and all Bridges positions) is based upon the cost-of-living adjustment for the Denver metro area. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on prior experience education knowledge skills and abilities relevant to the position. As a person grows in this role the full pay range is currently $72261.00 to $97552.00.

A cell phone will be provided along with a hybrid work arrangement when feasible for your positions responsibilities. Each employee will receive a laptop for their home office or travel for work.
