Join our team at IZAKAYA Amsterdam as a Kitchen Intern where you will receive hands-on training and mentorship from our talented chefs in the art of fine-dining Asian Fusion cuisine.

The Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Intern to join our renowned IZAKAYA kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow in the culinary industry and specialize in Japanese fine dining. You will work closely with our chefs assisting with the preparation of our signature dishes and learning the essential skills to become a successful chef.
As an intern you will have the opportunity to:
Assist with food preparation and cooking of IZAKAYAs signature dishes.
Learn how to maintain mise-en-place ensuring everything is prepared fresh and on time.
Help with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining hygiene standards (HACCP).
Contribute to the distribution of stocks and assist your team as needed.
Work in a high-paced environment balancing high volume with high quality.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food for the kitchen team.
Ensure that all mise-en-place is prepared to the highest standard.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
Follow the recipes and portion controls for each dish.
Help your team with general kitchen tasks and support where needed.
Requirements
Motivated and eager to learn about Asian Fusion and Japanese cuisine.
Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physically fit and comfortable working long hours.
Able to speak basic English for communication with the team.
Must be a team player and willing to take direction from senior chefs.
Ideally living nearby or in Amsterdam.
Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not essential.
