Fluor and Energy Materials an Orbia business is looking for a HR Generalist to be based in Tokyo Japan.
Main Purpose
To serve as a primary contact for people related objectives. Support assess communicate and implement people-related needs and be a trusted advisor for daily people related activities as a People Generalist.
Main Responsibilities
- Align People strategies with business objectives for Fluor and Energy Materials APAC region. Build partnership with local managers and act as a trusted advisor to address people-related topics.
- Execute day-to-day people & general affairs operations and resolve any issues that may arise implement employee policies and foster positive employee relations.
- Support the implementation of people programs by collaborating with regional leaders and people stakeholders (Total Rewards HRIS Talent Development and other People function leaders) and to ensure successful execution and facilitate change management in the regions.
- Manage and monitor employee performance-related issues and implement changes as needed. Assist in creating a culture of learning and professional development and strengthen the regions successor pipeline. Assist in training implementation as needed.
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives.
- Manage the payroll process recruiting and local personnel processes/policies to ensure compliance with labor laws regulations and internal policies.
- Ensure the accuracy of HRIS data accuracy and prepare people-related reports and documentation related to people for audits and internal use.
- Plan and implement DEI activities in the region to improve DEI experiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in any business area.
Knowledge/ Experience Required
- 5 years of Human Resources experience as a generalist or related role.
- Solid understanding of Human Resources technical areas including but not limited to; compensation practices recruiting HRIS employee relations performance management and learning and development.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Business level proficiency in English. Native/Business level in Japanese.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Experience dealing with external unions is a plus.
- Experience working in the chemical industry would be advantageous.
- Able to travel occasionally.
