Role purpose:

Perform inspections of engineering assets and assess for compliance against specified Codes Standards specifications and procedures. Assess and monitor the performance of other Inspectors using knowledge and experience as appropriate for complex and demanding situations to ensure service delivery. This role may also involve managing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope that includes budget constraints and contractual requirements.

Assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client with an agreed fee/cost structure and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and Lloyds Registers standard terms and conditions meeting job/project requirements.

Mentor coach give technical guidance to colleagues as appropriate to build capability capacity and support networks to leverage knowledge transfer and application.

Contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships and make recommendations based on client feedback to improve Service Delivery and to help build the business.

Produce the deliverable (reports/certificates/documents) within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees work as requested. Discuss/present deliverable to internal/external client at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.

Maintain clear concise and comprehensive records and reports related to inspections completed

Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region supporting Sales and Marketing activities

Undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contractual requirements

Undertake and maintain agreed personal authorisations. Follow up training plans perform activity monitoring/document monitoring and pursue continuous professional development. Maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures accreditation schemes legislation and industry standards.

Key health & safety responsibilities:

Eliminate or minimise employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register applying appropriate controls communicating results of risk assessments and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LRQA activities.

Manage your own and your teams compliance with health and safety rules instructions systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

Must have completed secondary education relevant apprenticeship or equivalent. For direct entrant likely to possess relevant Batchelors degree from a recognised University or equivalent.

Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification including job-specific certifications such as ASME PED etc

Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body e.g. . Likely to be working towards Chartered/Professional Engineer

Will possess sufficient relevant previous working experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements knowledge and application

Technical competencies to be assessed within the authorisations framework supervised at this level

Competent in MS Office suite of software

Proficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal)

Effective interpersonal skills

Likely to have 6-10 years relevant working experience
