Role Overview:

Overview:

Join our North American Service Center (NASC) as a Mobile Controls Engineer providing critical on-site and remote support for cutting-edge automated material handling solutions. You will be a key player in ensuring system reliability and efficiency through expert troubleshooting incident management and optimization. A good understanding of Low-Level Controls (LLC) and PLC systems will be essential to your success. During the first year you will be working on projects and must be willing to travel and work away from home for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Resolution & Diagnostics: Swiftly diagnose and resolve complex incidents related to automated material handling systems minimizing downtime.
  • PLC Support: diagnose repair prevent modify maintain and commission IPC and PLC/LLC systems.
  • Network & Communication: Troubleshoot and optimize bus networks including Profibus ASI bus Profinet and TCP/IP.
  • Log Data Analysis: Analyze log data to support and resolve potential system issues proactively.
  • IT System Integration: Demonstrate proficiency in working with IT systems related to industrial automation.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Apply comprehensive knowledge of electromechanical and networking systems with a focus on Siemens PLCs.
  • On-Site Support & Commissioning: Provide on-site support for troubleshooting commissioning and critical system maintenance during projects customer peak periods and system updates.
  • Documentation & Escalation: Maintaining accurate incident documentation and effectively escalating complex issues.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in controls technology with a specialization in PLC systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in controls software for automated logistics.
  • Strong understanding of LLC and industrial networking systems.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong teamwork and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Service Minded.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time role in a dynamic call center and field environment.
  • Up to 70% travel to customer sites across North America.
  • Occasional international training opportunities.
  • Ability to access and navigate industrial sites for inspections.
