As a Vice President in the Payments Legal team you will provide legal support across 14 APAC jurisdictions ensuring compliance and managing legal risks. Your role is crucial in advising on emerging laws and regulations contributing to the strategic direction of the Legal department. Youll work in a collaborative multicultural environment directly impacting the firms success and innovation in the payments industry.

Familiarity with products like notional pooling and escrow services will enhance your impact as will business proficiency in Chinese.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support and advice on J.P. Morgan Payments products across APAC.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and draft standard templates for new services.
  • Advise on existing and emerging laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with local regional and global legal counterparts.
  • Coordinate on cross-border activities and cross-line business projects.
  • Contribute to the Legal departments strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Strong English communication drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset and ability to handle tight deadlines.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and ability to manage complex projects.
  • Reliable organized and detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:

  • Familiarity with notional pooling client money accounts and merchant services.
  • Experience advising on financial regulatory developments.
  • Business proficiency in Chinese.
