A Day in the Life
The Mitral & Tricuspid Downstream Marketing Director will launch new therapies that change lives. This leader will create and manage new billion-dollar brands build new markets launch and manage products globally and partner with global commercial teams to create and execute commercial strategies. This position will build and lead a global downstream marketing team and reports into the General Manager transcatheter mitral & tricuspid therapies.At Medtronic we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we -person exchanges are invaluable to our work. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Define brand strategies for Medtronics mitral and tricuspid therapies that establishes a clear and sustainable market position
- Lead global launch of transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve systems.
- Recruit develop and manage a high performing downstream marketing team.
- Develop and execute annual global product marketing plans in collaboration with upstream marketing and commercial leadership.
- Represent marketing on new product development core teams
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies
- Foster positive relationships with key opinion leaders industry luminaries and other partners to support therapy and product acceptance
- Work across a broad group of stakeholders to successfully execute role including Health Care Professionals (HCPs) Senior Leadership (including the Chief Medical Officer) Global Commercial Leadership Market Development Medical Education Field Training Therapy Development Physician Relations Clinical Research Regulatory and Legal.
- Travel up to 40% including international travel.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Engineering or related field.
- 15 years combined or advanced degree with 13 years relevant experience in two or more of the following functions: marketing market development sales field training or other relevant areas
- 5 years of commercial experience; preferably with both upstream and downstream medical device marketing experience.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
- Masters degree/MBA in Business Marketing or related field strongly preferred.
- Significant experience launching novel medical devices and building new therapies
- Experience creating new brands and/or brand strategy
- Strong people leadership collaboration communication presentation and execution skills focused on team patients and business success.
- Strong understanding of structural heart disease states and therapies or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge
- Excellent communication facilitation presentation and financial analysis skills.
- Experience with project management/project leadership excellent planning and organizational skills coupled with demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
- Experience in multicultural organizations
- Proven track record of ability to navigate and collaborate within a global matrix organization
- Excellent spoken and written English is required.
