DescriptionAn entry-level professional in the field of Engineering. Uses professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity. Limited or no prior experience in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Design and layout piping systems for various industrial applications.
- Perform pipe stress analysis (static and dynamic) for critical piping systems in accordance with ASME piping codes standards and industry practices.
- Identify different stress packages through review of P&IDs / Line Designation tables.
- Provide pipe loading information to other disciplines as required. Resolve high pipe loads on equipment nozzles & high secondary stresses in piping.
- Selection of spring hangers snubbers struts for pipe supports.
- Preparation and interpretation/review of stress calculations of relatively complex nature.
- Locate and identify pipe supports on isometrics review piping isometrics against piping material specifications.
- Prepare complete documentation of the stress analysis and support design.
- Participates in reviewing and checking designs drawings and data from suppliers.
- Collaborate with designers engineers and the construction team to optimize pipe routing and support schemes.
- Knowledge to ensure compliance with ASME B31.1 B31.3 B31.4 B31.8 and other international design codes (API ASTM).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize piping designs for cost efficiency and safety.
- Experience with CAD or 3D modeling software for visualization and reviews (e.g. AutoCAD Navisworks BIM 360 ACC)
- Experience with industrial equipment as pumps tanks boilers steam turbines flares pressure vessels heat exchangers columns etc.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Spanish and English.
Qualifications:
- 7 years power plant design experience (or related plant design experience) with an emphasis in pipe layout stress analysis pipe design and supports.
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering structural engineering or equivalent engineering program.
- Advanced stress analysis skills in Caesar II.
- Experience designing pumping systems and use of hydraulic software as Fluidflow PipeFlo.
- Exceptional organization and communication skills.
- Knowledge of design codes and standards applicable for Pipe Support design work.
