Assistant Finance Manager (Accounting and Budgeting Section) ()
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manager in supervising a small team of accounting staff;
- Support month-end and annual closing processes prepare financial reports and analysis and liaise with auditors for the annual audit;
- Perform daily accounting operations ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures;
- Build relationships and provide financial guidance to faculties and administrative departments;
- Assist in budgeting forecasting and budgetary control;
- Prepare full sets of accounts for the Universitys subsidiaries and related companies;
- Provide financial support for projects including vetting fund monitoring timely report submission and audit;
- Review and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations; and
- Perform any other ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in accounting or finance with membership of a recognised professional accounting body;
- Minimum five years of experience in financial accounting and management reporting preferably within universities NGOs or sizeable organisations with a minimum of two year must be at a supervisory level;
- Strong analytical mind effective problem-solving abilities detail-oriented independent responsible and proactive in seeking solutions;
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English and Chinese (Cantonese and preferably Putonghua) as well as strong interpersonal and collaboration skills;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work efficiently under pressure; and
- Proficiency in computer software with hands-on experience in Oracle financials considered an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend for a written test.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
