Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day needs of a portfolio of clients.
Provide VAT technical advice and assistance to clients including advice on more complex issues.
Delegate work to junior colleagues in the team providing guidance training and mentoring to ensure high productivity and work quality.
Review the work of junior colleagues to ensure that it is technically correct and that it meets Ryans standards in terms of language and format.
Organise workloads and prioritise issues within the team to ensure that advice is provided on a timely basis and in line with clients expectations.
Actively participate in calls and meetings with both prospective and existing clients.
Maintain close relationships with existing clients to maximize potential for additional work.
Liaise with third parties including tax authorities and suppliers (local partners).
Review news articles prepared by junior colleagues to ensure that they are factually correct.
Write longer more in-depth articles to be published on the companys website or in external journals etc.
Participate in the preparation and delivery of marketing initiatives such as webinars and speaking engagements.
Review changes to legislation and administrative practice to identify the impact that these may have on our clients and our business.
Solicit regular feedback from client contacts.
Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times including by junior members of the team.
Prepare/review client and local partner fee quotes and make appropriate recommendations to senior management.
Manage the billing process to ensure that clients are invoiced on a timely basisand recommend billing decisions in line with company policies.
Prepare/review responses to billing queries from clients.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree / Masters degree in Law Management or Economics.
Fluent in English (spoken and written). Other languages will also be valued in the recruitment process.
Professional experience of at least 5 years in a VAT advisory role preferably with an international/cross-border focus.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
No specific certificate or license.
Work Environment:
Standard indoor office environment.
Long periods of sitting while working at computer.
Occasional long periods of standing.
Must be able to lift carry push or pull up to 30 lbs.
Position requires regular interaction with employees clients and vendors both in person and via email and telephone.
Independent travel requirement: 5 10%
