The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF)Southcoast Region Support Services is looking for aBudget Analyst 1 to help usKeep Alaska Moving!




What you will be doing:
Are you ready to take the lead in financial reporting and play a key role in supporting leadership in Southcoast Region As our Budget Analyst youll be the go-to expert for budget analysis and performance reporting ensuring that key performance initiatives are accurately tracked and communicated. Working directly with the Regional Director Deputy Regional Director and Administrative Operations Manager youll keep the region on track financially and strategically.

Key duties include:

  • Collaborating with the Administrative Operations Manager to analyze spending monitor budgets and deliver accurate monthly and quarterly reports. Youll also develop and refine the regions annual operating budget.
  • Leading the charge on implementing new software systems like Agile Assets and train new hires on their usage. Be the key point of contact for ongoing support and system improvements.
  • Gathering consolidating and analyzing budget data to respond to legislative and budgetary inquiries helping to inform decisions and recommendations for the organization.
  • Ensuring emergency response spending is properly tracked and coded resolving issues and ensuring full reimbursement for the region.

Two years of technical level experience in accounting budget finance or similar field. This includes but is not limited to such work as Accounting Technician 1 and 2 Administrative Assistant 1 and 2 Statistical Technician 1 and 2 or Human Resource Technician 1 and 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution
A bachelors degree from an accredited college in accounting finance business administration economics statistics or a closely related field will substitute for the required experience.
