We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development optimization and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach who can collaborate with product engineering operations and quality to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in fabrication equipment and processes (press brakes laser cutting welding) lean manufacturing knowledge and leadership in driving productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design implement and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity quality and cost efficiency.
  • Be a business partner with operations leader and oversee implementation of shop floor improvement projects and document progress.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to introduce new products and processes into manufacturing (NPI/NPD).
  • Analyze workflow space requirements and equipment layout to establish lean manufacturing systems.
  • Evaluate and implement new equipment tooling and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work instructions process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues using tools like 8D FMEA and Six Sigma.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen 5S value stream mapping).
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and production teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Monitor and report on manufacturing performance metrics (OEE yield cycle time scrap rate).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 510 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering roles.
  • High Mix / Low Volume Batch Build processes preferred.
  • Proven experience in process design production optimization and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Experience managing and implementing CAPEX projects.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing Six Sigma and quality systems (ISO 9001 AS9100 etc.).
  • Knowledge of GD&T SPC or pFMEA.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment and processes.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g. Six Sigma Black Belt PMP Lean Certification).
  • Experience in material handling equipment a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining automation or PLC programming a plus.
  • ERP/MRP system knowledge (SAP Oracle etc.).

The base salary range for this role is $87600 to $131300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location level job-related knowledge skills experience and performance.
