What Youll Do in This Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older adults Join us as a Recreational Aide at Thome PACE where every day brings opportunities to inspire joy connection and engagement. Under the guidance of our Therapy Clinic Manager and Certified Recreational Therapist Specialist (CTRS) youll help design and deliver meaningful activities that support the social emotional and physical well-being of participants. From planning group events to offering one-on-one support youll play an important role in building a vibrant community where participants feel valued supported and connected.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create Joyful Experiences Assist in planning and leading recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to participants abilities and preferences.
Keep the Fun Flowing Help develop monthly event calendars organize daily programs and support community outings and special events.
Build Community Foster a warm supportive atmosphere that encourages friendships and provides participants with a sense of belonging.
Specialized Support Implement engaging activities for participants living with dementia to promote comfort and connection.
Stay Organized Maintain supplies document activity participation and keep the recreation areas tidy and inviting.
Lend a Helping Hand Provide basic ADL (Activities of Daily Living) care when needed and assist participants in the Day Center their homes or the community.
Collaborate & Grow Work closely with the care team contribute to quality improvement initiatives and complete required PCA training.
What Youll Need:
What Youll Need (Required):
High School Diploma or GED.
Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain if not already certified).
Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
At least 1 year of experience working with older adults frail or elderly populations.
What Wed Love to See (Preferred):
Previous experience planning or supporting activity programs in a healthcare senior living or community setting.
