The Dean of the School of Business serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the school fostering an environment of academic excellence innovation and community engagement. This role is responsible for aligning the schools goals with the universitys mission promoting faculty scholarship enhancing student success and strengthening relationships with industry partners.
Responsibilities
- Promote innovative high-quality academic programs that prepare students for leadership in business entrepreneurship and global markets.
- Lead initiatives to achieve and maintain accreditation from relevant bodies (e.g. AACSB ACBSP).
- Oversee curriculum development assessment and continuous improvement across undergraduate and graduate business programs.
- Support faculty research professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ensure academic programs remain relevant to current business trends and employer needs.
- Champion student recruitment retention mentoring and career readiness initiatives.
- Partner with career services to expand internship co-op and employment opportunities for business students.
- Recruit develop evaluate and retain a diverse and talented faculty and staff.
- Foster a collegial inclusive and collaborative culture within the school.
- Manage budgets allocate resources effectively and pursue fundraising and grant opportunities.
Education
- Terminal degree (Ph.D. DBA or equivalent) in business or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 710 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education with a record of teaching research and service.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
