Job Summary

The Dangote Sugar Numan Operation is looking for a dedicated and results-oriented Zonal Manager for the DSR NUMAN OPERATIONS to lead our operations in the zone and drive performance this role you will oversee and manage all operational activities ensuring that the companys strategic objectives are met while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality. General Supervision and Management of all Farm Estate areas and to ensure operations in each field are coordinated and planned to give optimum utilization of Labour materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely execution of crop management and activities like weeding herbicide application fertilizer application and middle busting cost effective manner to ensure maximum production and achieve the targeted varietal percentage with varietal purity.
  • Planning and execution of all the activities related to cane production in the estate.
  • Continuously improvement in mechanical operations from planting to harvest.
  • Effective utilization of all inputs and manpower in the field by motivating the team to attain high performance. Continuously strive to improve methods of cultivation of sugar cane with minimum cost.
  • Benchmarking the field level activities towards continual improvement of operational efficiencies.
  • Compile and submit monthly work plan and monthly productivity reports of his area to Head of Agriculture.
  • Coordinates Land development Field preparation planting and maintenance of sugarcane in all sections in his area. Planning preparation & Compilation of budget and implementation of the approved budget -ordination with other sections of the Dept. to execute the farming operations in time.
  • Maintain harmonious relationship with the Farm In charges and Supervisory staff and labour and their representative bodies to ensure uninterrupted operations and high efficiency. To strictly enforce compliance with the policy guidelines of the company
  • Ensure proper compliance in the field and sections of all safety procedures and safety equipment and protective given by the company to his area to avoid personal injury accidents and loss of man hours
  • Maintain strict control and monitor closely the engagement of causal labour in the field for agricultural operations to ensure efficiency without any malpractices.
  • Ensure continuous protection of estate property assets resources and boundaries
  • Reporting the work progress on daily basis. Recruitment of field level staff in co-ordination with HOD and HRM dept.
  • Identification and execution of training requirements of team members. Initiation of incentive schemes to motivate the team towards accomplishment of organizational goals.
  • Monitoring the intensity of pest and disease & execution of needed control measures.
  • Reporting to the Head Agric. Fixing the KFAs to Farm managers & Agric. officers Monitoring and Reviewing them periodically Supervise and co-ordinate the work of all the Farm In charges reporting directly to him by setting reporting Procedures & formats based on their KFAs and Fixation of necessary guidelines & instructions to accomplish the organisational goals. Appraise Head-Agric. with important development in his area on day-to-day basis. Conversant and implementation of HR policies without any deviation. Assumes any other duties assigned to him by the Head of Agriculture.
  • Supervise and manage a distinct all farm estate area to ensure efficient utilization of labourers materials and equipments.
  • Assist the HOD to implement the programme and activities of the department at the appropriate time
  • Ensure that analyse of soil type are carried out and determine the irrigation cycle required diking fertilizer & other input needed for maximum output
  • Ensure all safety measures are in place and PPE.
  • Ensure all SOP are followed.
  • Ensure the required manpower for the departments activities is provided through liaising with HR department.


Requirements

Qualifications Skills & Experience:

  • . Agric. or Degree (.) in any Agric. Related courses.
  • Any relevant profession certificate is an added advantage.

15-20 Years working experience in the sugar industry out of which 5 years experience in handling large scale farm management.
