As the Communications & Media Relations Coordinator for DOT&PFs stunning Southcoast Regionyoullbe based in Juneauwhere mountains meet the sea and every community is a photographers dynamic digital content lead media outreach and connect with coastal communities across Southeast Alaska. What you will be doing:
As an Information Officer you willbe responsible forenhancing public outreach and engagement by creating compelling digital content producing publications managing social media and coordinating with the media. A critical part of your role involves providingtimelyandaccurateupdates during crises working closely with media local governments tribal entities and interagency partners to ensure effective communication.


Working within the Communications Team and supporting the Southcoast Region Director you will develop visual and written materials for various platforms including social media website updates and public outreach eventsmaintainingclear and consistent messaging. You will lead media requests ensuring cohesive messaging across all channels.


Youllalso help tell the story of the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) highlighting its iconic routes vital coastal ports and the unique communities it serves throughout Southeast Alaska. From ferry schedules to community celebrations your content will bring the AMHS journey to life.


The Communications Teamoperateswithin a matrix structure fostering collaboration and supporting members with specialized training and resources. Your work will highlight Alaskas transportation initiatives strengthening connections with diverse stakeholders including state and local agencies non-governmental organizations and tribal entities.
