As a Senior Engineering Manager in Platform Engineering you will lead high-performing teams that build and evolve the core infrastructure tooling and developer experience used across the organization. Youll play a strategic role in shaping the vision and direction of our internal platforms ensuring they are scalable reliable and user-centric. While you wont be directly involved in implementation youll bring a strong understanding of technical concepts to support sound decision-making ask the right questions and guide your teams through architectural and operational considerations. This role blends people management and cross-functional collaboration to drive engineering excellence operational maturity and a culture of continuous improvement. Youll be key in enabling product teams to ship faster more securely and with greater confidence.
What Youll Be Doing
Leading and supporting platform engineering teams focused on infrastructure developer tooling and internal platform capabilities.
Setting clear goals and tracking progress with key performance indicators (KPIs) related to platform reliability scalability and developer experience.
Leading the recruitment and onboarding of engineering talent to form high-performing teams with aligned technical expertise and strategic focus.
Fostering a collaborative team culture and mentoring engineering managers and engineers to support continuous development and long-term growth.
Collaborating across teams to align on priorities manage dependencies and resolve blockers ensuring technical solutions are in sync with the broader engineering objectives and business strategy.
Driving strategic initiatives that improve platform scalability reliability and developer experience while measuring success through defined metrics.
Working cross-functionally to align priorities manage dependencies and remove blockers - ensuring technical solutions align with broader engineering and business strategy.
Championing engineering best practices including automation observability and secure-by-default approaches.
Representing your teams in planning and leadership forums ensuring visibility alignment and effective communication.
Proven experience leading platform engineering (or similar) teams focused on infrastructure developer tooling and platform capabilities.
Proven ability to manage high levels of complexity successfully leading multiple major workstreams in parallel to drive business outcomes and deliver exceptional value.
Strong understanding of scalable reliable systems and a track record of driving improvements in developer experience and operational efficiency.
Expertise in managing engineering talent from hiring and onboarding to mentoring and performance management.
Ability to define implement and track SLOs to measure and ensure platform reliability scalability and operational effectiveness.
Deep collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with product security and other teams to drive alignment and remove blockers.
A strategic mindset with the ability to align technical solutions with broader business goals and engineering objectives.
Familiarity with engineering best practices including automation observability and secure-by-default approaches.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
A passion for building a healthy inclusive and high-performing team culture focused on continuous improvement and ownership.
