Senior Software Engineering Manager

What youll do

  • Youll support a cross-functional group of 3 to 4 engineering teams to design develop and integrate software features that are delightful and vital to the lives of credit card consumers across all walks of life
  • Coach and nurture your engineering managers on how to build empower and operate teams to achieve their goals
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers on the overall product roadmap for a key business goal
  • Provide sound stewardship of the platform and capabilities created and owned by your teams
  • Be part of the engineering leadership team that evolves and enhances our capability by defining and adopting best practices
  • Play a lead role in the development of your teams culture their vision and how they achieve it
  • Work with associates across the business to identify lead and drive change that impacts associates beyond your team

What were looking for

  • Youll have experience in leading and supporting multi-disciplined engineering teams to achieve business goals
  • Youre comfortable in reaching technical trade-offs between short-term team and long-term business needs
  • Youre passionate about recruiting and developing great engineering talent
  • Youll demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and work together across engineering to maximise inner-sourcing opportunities and reduce waste

What youll get to learn (any previous experience would be advantageous)

  • An in-depth understanding and experience working with the cloud/AWS and the opportunities that it brings

  • Solving real world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment

Where and how youll work

This is a permanent position and is based in our London office.

We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.

Were big on collaboration and connection so youll be based in our office 3 days a week on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays.
