Monday - Saturday 7.30am to 8pm
At Buckshaw Hospital our Radiology Department is equipped with modern high-spec technology including a Siemens Sola 1.5T MRI scanner a Siemens Go Top CT Scanner two Siemens Sequoia US scanners as well as a mobile x-ray machine and c-arm for theatre support. We are committed to delivering a comprehensive patient-focused diagnostic imaging service in a friendly and professional environment. The department runs normally from Monday to Saturday providing MRI scans every day with some Sundays opening as demand dictates.
We are seeking an experienced Radiographer to join our dedicated radiology team on a full-time basis (30 to 37.5 hours per week). The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality diagnostic images and excellent patient care. The successful candidate will be trained as an MR Responsible Person to assist the Imaging Manager in safely running the department as per guidelines set out by Ramsay Policy on MR safety and as per the MHRA MRI Safety guidelines.
You will be expected to:
Run MR/CT contrast and non-contrast scan lists independently and with another Radiographer and/or Radiology Assistant.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of MRI & CT safety protocols policies and procedures.
Work closely and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and colleagues.
Work during our operational hours (Monday to Saturday).
Deliver high-quality MRI & CT imaging while maintaining patient comfort and dignity.
Ensure all imaging is performed in line with current scanning protocols and best practice.
Manage radiology bookings efficiently and effectively.
Complete RIS/PACS processes in a timely and accurate manner.
Uphold patient confidentiality and care in accordance with Ramsay Health Care policies.
Report equipment faults and escalate departmental issues promptly.
Partake in MR Safety processes and audits
Identify and help improve processes in MRI & CT
Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council).
Proven MRI experience in a clinical setting.
Excellent organisational communication and time-management skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to continuous professional development and patient care.
MRI Postgraduate Certificate or equivalent qualification.
CT experience or Postgraduate certification
Managerial Team Lead or Lead Radiographer experience
