We are looking for a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MS SQL who also has a basic understanding of Windows server administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration configuration and optimization of MS SQL databases along with providing basic L1 and L2 support for Windows server management. This hybrid role will involve working with both database technologies and offering basic support for Windows environments.
- Manage configure and optimize MS SQL Server databases (e.g. MS SQL 2016/2019).
- Perform regular database backups restores and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure database security compliance and performance optimization.
- Monitor troubleshoot and resolve MS SQL-related issues.
- Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas indexes and queries.
- Provide L1 and L2 support for Windows Server environments (e.g. Windows Server 2019).
- Assist in basic Windows server tasks such as patches updates and user account management.
- Automate routine tasks such as database backups and basic Windows maintenance using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Participate in system and network troubleshooting alongside the IT team for integrated solutions.
- Provide support for database-related performance tuning and diagnostics.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in MS SQL database administration.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server management (e.g. Windows Server 2016/2019).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for databases and basic Windows systems.
- Experience with MS SQL performance tuning query optimization and data migration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2 or higher).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with cloud database solutions (e.g. Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and certifications.
- Experience with other database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL).
- Knowledge of Windows security practices and hardening techniques.
- Familiarity with network concepts and system integration.
