Senior legal counsel

In this role youll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

The Legal Counsel will

• Provide legal support in China in connection to Electrification Business.

• Formulate improvement and development of legal processes due diligence and legal productivity simplicity and standardization reflecting the country specific requirements.
• Independently draft review revise negotiate and provide risk assessment on contracts projects or deals in line with ABB internal risk control guidelines and applicable local laws.
• Managing and coordinating litigation and arbitration and disputes in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.

• Support legal entities corporate governance matters.

• Support ABB Integrity program and support Integrity initiatives in close collaboration with the integrity team.

• Providing internal training on contractual and integrity topics.

Qualifications for the Role

• Master of Law from a reputable law school and admission to China Bar.

  Minimum 10 years legal experience or equivalent in a recognized law firm or multinational company.

  Provides strategic legal advice and upholds the highest standards of integrity within ABB; ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and ethical standards; effectively manages legal risks and fosters a culture of integrity across the organization in China.

  Substantial hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

  Strong ability in handling and managing complex deals and disputes.

  Strong command on corporate and commercial law.

  Work independently with minimal supervision.

  Experience in To-C business is preferred.

  Experience in implementing and monitoring integrity and compliance program in China is preferred.

  Fluent in English.

Required Characteristics

Hands-on business partner attitude with solution-oriented mindset under proper risk control.

Demonstrable leadership experience in particular coordinating with cross-functional and cross-country teams in complex transactions.

Superior advocacy and communication skills including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in writing and orally (in both Chinese and English) an aptitude for practical negotiation the capability to think logically and quickly and keep calm under pressure the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests and ability to share lessons learned with teammates.
