ABOUT ROCKET LAB
Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services complete spacecraft design and manufacturing payloads satellite components and more all with the goal of opening access space. The rockets and satellites we build and launch enable some of the most ambitious and vital space missions globally supporting scientific exploration Earth observation and missions to combat climate change national security and exciting new technology demonstrations.
Our Electron rockethas become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually and has delivered more than 230 satellites to orbit all while we work to develop Neutron our upcoming medium-lift reusable launch vehicle for larger constellation deployment. Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites payloads and their components including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

Rocket Lab is rapidly developing its launch vehicle capabilities with Electron launching 16 times in 2024 and targeting 20 launches in 2025 as well as developing the Neutron medium lift launch vehicle.
This role will support the development build test and deployment of all vehicle ground and simulation software across both Electron and Neutron.
WHAT YOULL GET TO DO:
Launching a rocket and operating satellites requires a symphony of multiple teams multiple sites and multiple complex systems working together towards mission success. Software drives every aspect of this and Rocket Lab has a large number of complex software products. This role will support the development build test and deployment of all vehicle ground and simulation software across both Electron and Neutron. To excel in this role you will need to balance a deep technical understanding of software build test and deployment processes for a distributed embedded system with the ability to work with many stakeholders to find best-for-business solutions.
YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a software development environment with major focus on build continuous integration and deployment of software.
- Experience with embedded software development and associated tools.
- Linux and Windows system administration
- Experience with Git Redmine Jira
- Experience with Team City GitLab CI or other build system
- Experience with make Bazel cmake automake
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with web and software build deployment
- Network Security
- Project Management
- Ansible
